Emergency Tree Service in the Tri-Cities — We Pick Up

When a tree comes down on your house at 6 a.m. on a Saturday, you don't need a voicemail. You need someone to answer, show up, and handle it. That's what we do. I'm Terry Phillips, owner of Crosscut Tree Services, and I respond to emergency calls personally. If you've got a dangerous situation after a storm or a tree that can't wait, call me directly at (423) 946-7690.

If Any of These Describe Your Situation, Call Us Now

Not every tree job is urgent, but some absolutely are. If you're dealing with any of the following, don't wait until Monday morning.

Tree on Your House or Structure

A tree or large limb has fallen on your roof, garage, deck, fence, or any other structure. This needs to be addressed immediately — both to stop further damage and to allow repairs to begin. We've responded to exactly this situation, including early morning calls on weekends.

Tree Blocking a Road or Driveway

A fallen tree blocking your driveway, a shared road, or a neighbor's access isn't just an inconvenience — in some situations it's a safety issue. We can clear it quickly.

    Hanging or Partially Fallen Tree

A tree that's cracked, split, or leaning against another tree or structure after a storm is unpredictable. It may look stable but won't stay that way. This is one of the more dangerous situations we deal with — the sooner we can assess and remove it, the better.

Large Limb Failure Over a High-Traffic Area

A major limb hanging by a thread over your driveway, walkway, porch, or anywhere people regularly pass is a serious hazard. A good storm or even a hot dry spell can bring it down without warning.

    Uprooted Tree Threatening Foundation

A root ball pulling out of the ground puts weight and pressure in unpredictable directions. If an uprooted tree is leaning toward your house or has disturbed underground utilities, we need to get it controlled.

Storm Damage You're Not Sure About

After a big storm, it's not always obvious what's actually damaged and what's fine. If something looks wrong but you're not sure how urgent it is, call us. We'd rather you call and find out it can wait a few days than not call and have a branch come down overnight.

    What Happens When You Call

Emergency tree work moves differently than a scheduled job, but our standards don't change.

    1

    You Call, We Answer

Call (423) 946-7690. I answer emergency calls personally whenever possible. If I'm up in a tree on another job and can't pick up immediately, I'll call back as quickly as I can. Give me your address and a quick description of the situation.

    2

    We Assess the Situation

When we arrive, the first thing we do is assess before we touch anything. Emergency tree work has a higher margin for error than a calm scheduled removal. We look at what's holding what, where the weight is, what's below, and what the safest sequence of cuts is.

    3

    Controlled Removal

We work methodically even under time pressure. The goal is to get the tree off your property or out of your driveway safely — without causing additional damage in the process.

    4

    Debris Cleared

We remove enough debris to secure the situation and restore access. For larger jobs, we'll schedule a follow-up cleanup if needed to haul everything off completely.

While You're Waiting for Us to Arrive

A few things worth doing in the meantime:

    • Stay away from the tree.

A tree that came down in a storm or partially fell is under tension in ways that aren't visible. Don't go near it, and keep your kids and pets inside.

    • Call your insurance company.

If a tree hit your house or a structure, get that claim started. Document the damage with photos from a safe distance before anything is moved.

    • Don't try to move it yourself.

A chainsaw and a truck are not the right answer for a tree that's loaded against your house. Let us handle it safely.

    • Check for utility hazards.

If the tree is anywhere near power lines, stay well back and call your utility company if lines are down or sparking. That's their jurisdiction, not ours — and it's not safe for anyone without the right training and equipment.

Why Call Crosscut When It's Urgent

    Responsive, Not Just "Available"

A lot of companies list emergency service on their website and then don't answer after hours. I answer because my number is my number — not a call center, not a dispatcher. When you call Crosscut, you get me.

    Experience with High-Stakes Situations

I've removed 80-foot trees on steep hillsides inches from homes and power lines. Emergency work requires the same skill as any complex removal — probably more, because the tree is already in a compromised position. This isn't the time to hire someone learning on the job.

We Don't Cut Corners Under Pressure

Time pressure can push crews to rush and make bad decisions. We work quickly, but we don't skip the assessment. Getting a tree off your house the wrong way can cause more damage than the tree itself did.

    We Show Up

One of our reviews mentions a customer whose tree fell on their house. They called early on a Saturday morning. We were there within an hour. That's not a selling point — it's just what we do.

    What Our Customers Say

"We had a tree fall on our house, I called him early on a Saturday morning. He was here within an hour and started removing the tree off of our house. He went above and beyond to help us get a tarp on the roof before the rain started. Very professional and reasonably priced."

"Terry did a wonderful job. Took down a huge poplar tree that was hollow. It was on a steep hill next to power lines. Not an easy job. Cleaned up very nicely. Highly recommend."
